What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Untethered Church.

Who we are, why we exist, and what we are called to are all foundational truths found in the Bible. God's Word is inerrant, complete, authoritative, and life changing.

God

There is One eternally existing God who has three distinct Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the Creator of all things, both visible and invisible, and worthy of all glory and praise.  God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable, filled with compassion, a friend to sinners and a seeker of the lost.

Revelation

God has revealed Himself to us  through Creation, through the prophets and the Scripture, and in this age, through his Son, Jesus Christ, Who is the visible image of the invisible God.

Mankind

Humans, both male and female, are created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created for fellowship with the Father and physically walked with God in the Garden. Man was created for life and love and purpose and was appointed as caretaker of the rest of God's Creation.

The Fall

When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God.  In their rebellion, sin entered the world and this caused them to fall out of fellowship with God, and fractured all of Creation ever since that time. Now all are born in need of rescue. And this Rescue has been God's plan from the beginning.

Salvation

Jesus Christ came, King of Kings, humbled from a manger to a cross, came to seek and save the lost-  to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly laid down His life on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. After 3 days, God raised him from the dead and now, by the gift of grace, offers eternal life to all who repent from the broken road and turn to follow Him. You are not saved by prayer or by church attendance, but by putting your faith and trust in Jesus Christ  Lord and Savior.

The Church

The Church is the family of God, the Body and Bride of Christ. We exist to be "The light of the world" as, led by the Holy Spirit, we go out into the community and glorify God by proclaiming the Gospel of Christ in word and deed.
